Remembrance Ribbons Hat
~Knit Hat with Eyelet Awareness Ribbons~

This pattern is for a knit hat that has breast cancer awareness ribbons done in eyelet rounds. There are a few pink stripes done in purl stitch and a crocheted edge along the bottom.

Materials needed:
Approx. 3 oz worsted weight yarn in grey
Approx. .5 oz worsted weight yarn in pink
Size 8 - 16" circular needles
Set of size 8 double-pointed needles
Size H crochet hook
Tapestry needle
Stitch
Marker
Gauge:
5
sts and 5.5 rows = 1"
Finished Measurements:
22"
around (and stretches considerably)
Instructions:
Foundation Round: with grey, cast on 88 sts. Place marker. Join to form circle making sure not to twist stitches. (88 sts)
Rounds 1-2: K around
Round 3: (YO, k2tog, k4, YO, k2tog) around
Round 4: K around
Round 5: K1, (YO, k2tog, k2, YO, K2tog, YO, K2tog) around to last repeat - YO, k2tog, k2, YO, k2tog, YO, slip next st purlwise, remove marker, slip st back to left needle, k2tog, place marker.
Round 6: K around
Round 7: k1, (YO, k2tog, YO, k2tog, k4) around to last 7 sts (YO, k2tog, YO, k2tog, k3)
Round 8: K around
Round 9: k2 (YO, k2tog, k6) around to last 6 sts - (YO, k2tog, k4)
Round 10: K around
Round 11: Repeat rnd 7
Round 12: K around
Round 13: Repeat rnd 7
Round 14: K around
Round 15: Repeat rnd 9
Rounds 16-20: K around
Round 21: with pink, P around
Round 22: with grey, P around
Round 23: Repeat rnd 21
Round 24: Repeat rnd 22
Round 25: K around
Repeat rnd 25 until hat measures 6" from beginning.
Decrease Rounds:
Round 1: (k6, k2tog) around (77 sts)
Round 2: K around
Round 3: (k5, k2tog) around (66 sts)
Round 4: K around
Round 5: switch to dpn's (k4, k2tog) around (55 sts)
Round 6: K around
Round 7: (k3, k2tog) around (44 sts)
Round 8: K around
Round 9: (k2, k2tog) around (33 sts)
Round 10: K around
Round 11: (k1, k2tog) around (22 sts)
Round 12: K around
Round 13: (k2tog) around (11 sts)
Round 14: k2tog, k9 (10 sts) - have half the sts on one needle and half on the back.
Cut yarn leaving a 6" tail. Using tapestry needle, kitchener the remaining sts. Weave in.
Weave in all other ends.
With crochet hook and pink, join w/ sc to any stitch at the bottom of hat. Ch 1, (skip next st, sc in next st, ch 1) around. Join w/ sl st to top of 1st sc. Finish off. Weave in ends.
