Finished Measurements:

21" around (to make a bigger cap, use a thicker weight yarn and an H hook - I wouldn't use anything thicker than sport weight, though.)

Instructions:

Round 1: with lt. yellow-green, ch 80. Join w/ sl st in the back loop of the 1st ch being careful not to twist the chain. Ch 1, sc in the back loop of each ch around. Join w/ sl st to 1st sc. (80 sc)

Rounds 2-5: ch 1, sc in each sc around. Join w/ sl st to 1st sc. (80 sc) Finish off.

Round 6: with lt. rose, join w/ sl st in any st, ch 4 (counts as 1st dc plus ch 1) turn. Skip next sc, dc in next sc. (Ch 1, skip next sc, dc in next sc) around. Join w/ sl st to the 3rd ch in the beg ch 4.

Round 7: ch 3, turn. Dc in next ch sp, dc in next dc *(ch 1, dc in next dc) 6 times. Ch 1, dc in next dc, dc in next ch sp and next dc - repeat from * around. Ch 1, join w/ sl st to top of beg ch 3.

Round 8: ch 3, turn, *dc in next ch sp and next dc. (Ch 1, dc in next dc) 5 times. Dc in next ch sp and in next dc. Ch 5, skip next dc, dc in next dc - repeat from * around. After the last ch 5, join w/ sl st to top of beg ch 3.

Round 9: sl st in next 2 dc. Ch 7 (counts as dc and ch 4), turn. * Sc in ch 5 sp. Ch 4, skip next 2 dc, dc in next dc. Dc in next ch sp and next dc. (Ch 1, dc in next dc) 3 times. Dc in next ch sp, and next dc. Ch 4. Repeat from * 3 times. Sc in ch 5 sp, ch 4, skip next 2 dc, dc in next dc. Dc in next ch sp and next dc (ch 1, dc in next dc) 3 times. Round 11: sl st in next 2 dc, turn. Ch 7 (counts as dc and ch 4). *Skip next 2 dc, sc in 4th ch of ch 4 sp. Sc in next 3 sc and next ch. Ch 4. Skip next 2 dc. Dc in next dc, next ch sp, and next dc. Ch 4. Repeat from * around until last ch 4. Skip next 2 dc, dc in next dc and next ch sp. Join w/ sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 7.

Round 12: Ch 1, sc in same st. * Sc in ch sp. Ch 6 - sc in next ch sp, sc in next 3 dc. Repeat from * around to last 2 dc. Sc in next dc, 2 sc in last dc. Join w/ sl st to 1st sc.

Round 13: ch 4, (sk next st, dc in next st, ch 1) around. Join w/ sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 4. Finish off.

Round 14: w/ lt. yellow-green, join w/ sc in any st. Sc in ea st around. Join w/ st st to 1st sc. (56 sc)

Rounds 15-20: ch 1, sc in ea sc around. Join w/ sl st to 1st sc. (56 sc)

Round 21: ch 1, (12 sc, sc dec) around. Join w/ sl st to 1st sc. (52 sc)

Round 22: ch 1, (11 sc, sc dec) around. Join w/ sl st to 1st sc. (48 sc)

Round 23: ch 1, (10 sc, sc dec) around. Join w/ sl st to 1st sc. (44 sc)

Round 24: ch 1, (9 sc, sc dec) around. Join w/ sl st to 1st sc. (40 sc)
